What is Miracast?

Miracast is a standard form of peer-to-peer wireless screen casting using a Wi-Fi Direct. It is an essential technology for anyone who wants to wirelessly share content on one screen to another screen or a projector.

How It Works?

According to the Wi-Fi Direct standard, the device will send shared information to the recipient when a Wi-Fi network is available. The device storing the content communicates directly with the receiver. It allows devices to connect directly to the display while remaining connected to an existing WIFI network, ensuring network services are always available for presentations or content viewing.

The Bottom Line

Miracast also allows mice, keyboards, and touch-enabled monitors to be wireless extensions to your PC, allowing for more natural and flexible interactions with the monitor.
It works on Windows and Android devices, but cannot be used on Apple devices.
